| subject: | PCMCIA question |
I just bought a PCMCIA USB adapter for my Toshiba Libretto 70CT. This machine dates from about 1997 and features a PCMCIA (probably Type I) slot. I can't fit the USB adapter card in the PCMCIA slot; a close inspection reveals that the left corner (seen from top) of the PCMCIA card has a slightly different shape than my other PCMCIA adapters that do fit in the Libretto. The manual mentions a Type II slot should be used. Before I grind away the extra plastic I would like to know: Is this maybe a mechanical difference between Type I and II that prevents Tpe II hardware from being inserted in Type I slots? And what do I have to expect if I manage to insert the USB adapter? Stephan ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Make a clean sweep of pop-up ads. Yahoo!
