I've had a few of those too.  The recent HP that I labored over for days is
one.  Gave it back to it's owner and asked if they needed a boat anchor, as
that's all this machine was good for.  Copied all their data files off, and
junked the machine.  They bought a new Dell, and are very happy (except
hooking up to the internet before installing a firewall got the machine
contaminated in 7 minutes.  Took and hour to clean up, but now all is well.

I wonder how soon new machines will show up with SP2 installed?
