Hi Ed,

I bought my VAIO Laptop in LA in March 1999, had it delivered 3 months 
later in Seattle, and that was a US model only - NTSC  Video  vice PAL 
etc [Sony Europe helped me out with the Registry changes from NTSC to 
PAL] and at that time there were no Sony computer products available 
whatsoever in Australia, and Sony Australia told me there would be none 
either, when I asked before leaving!, but all the Battery powered 
computers are auto-sensing 50-60Hz/100-260V or so - I use the same power 
supply here as in the US, just with the two flat-prong US cable there 
and the angled larger plug one here.  the UL electrical standards are 
just as high there.
