Hi Franklin,

With LVM - *until* you select to *commit* the changes you back backpedal 
at any rate you like to anywhere in the sequence of selections you made 
- you can try-out what the menu options allow you to do, without 
destroying *anything*!  Making a compatibility volume out of a former 
partition-drive doesn't involve any risk at all - just read the options 
given you on each sub-menu!
