In message , Jeff Mills
 writes
>"Ebony and Ivory" was a big hit when it came out in 1982. It's a song
>that talks about racial harmony between blacks and whites,
>metaphorically tying it in with the keys on a piano. Why is it then
>that a song with a positive message is routinely bashed by most
>critics and some fans?

To some people the music is paramount and the message is trivial - hence
the song is a bile of steaming horse droppings.
