Hi Gerry,
Before installing IBM BM, I should have also inserted - from a command 
prompt run "LVM /QUERY:ALL" - Note all the partition information - 
especially if there is a hidden IBM "recovery" partition there.
Then run "LVM /NEWMBR:1",   assuming you only have one HDD in the TP.
Re-delete all partitions, then install IBM BM with LVM, run "SHUTDOWN" 
and restart the installation.
