Hello K. following up a message from Richard Glidden to K. Lindholm: On Thu Apr 25 1996 at 01:58, K. Lindholm of 1:285/43 wrote: KL> Recently I did a major upgrade to the system here. Also, find out if they are (snipping) Good ideas. Also, ask them if they're using registered external protocols, such as dsz, I believe. The reason I say this is that vfido uses dsz for the zedzap xfers, and if it's unregistered, it does the nag and has some delays that will screw up an emsi session. This happened with a vbbs system I fed for about 6 months. Are the vbbs systems you have this problem with using registered software? I brought up this problem in here, as did Roy and a few others who responded to you. So far as I'm concerned, Tims, VBBS, and most other back end mailers should be deemed noncompliant, as most people complain of problems with connecting when a mail link uses them. When this system dropped out of fido, I told everybody else I fed in this community that as long as I remained unofficial hub, we'd have only major league mailer software on systems that wanted a feed from me. This meant BT FD Intermail or D'bridge. Regards, Richard Webb, KB0RUU ...
