Good ideas.  Also, ask them if they're using registered external protocols,
such as dsz, I believe. The reason I say this is that vfido uses dsz for
the zedzap xfers, and if it's unregistered, it does the nag and has some
delays that will screw up an emsi session.  This happened with a vbbs
system I fed for about 6 months.
Are the vbbs systems you have this problem with using registered software?

I brought up this problem in here, as did Roy and a few others who
responded to you. So far as I'm concerned, Tims, VBBS, and most other back
end mailers should be deemed noncompliant, as most people complain of
problems with connecting when a mail link uses them.
When this system dropped out of fido, I told everybody else I fed in this
community that as long as I remained unofficial hub, we'd have only major
league mailer software on systems that wanted a feed from me. This meant BT
FD Intermail or D'bridge.
