Hello Roy -

--8<--cut

CA>> My one-and-only hard drive failure was also that the
CA>> bearings just wore out after almost 15 years of 24/7
CA>> operation. I couldn't find a reason to gripe considering
CA>> the circumstances (Seagate purchased new by me). :-)

RJT> The 251s I refer to were used, and still work! I just
RJT> can't deal with the noise of them...

One reason my hard drives have been as long-lived might be that
I try to avoid moving my machines. Once I pick a spot they stay
there until they quit working and I am forced to toss the
entire machine.
