Perhaps w2k can disclose the answer after that setup; check the tcpip
properties for the dialup connection created; but that may show that it
gets DNS server info as part of the connection process.

Another possibility is derived from a dig/nslookup inquiry for the
authoritative DNS server of the IP from which you connect, as revealed
in email headers:

ucwphilly.rr.com.       58m1s IN NS     dns-sec-03.rdc-nyc.rr.com.
ucwphilly.rr.com.       58m1s IN NS     dns-pri-01.rdc-nyc.rr.com.
ucwphilly.rr.com.       58m1s IN NS     dns-sec-01.rdc-nyc.rr.com.
