PE> Why can't I install OS/2 on my 3rd IDE drive? PE> It won't allow me to mark the first partition (logical, 1900 meg) PE> as "installable". I used to be able to install off my 3rd physical PE> drive when it was SCSI. RS> Likely just the mindless 1024 cylinder question you RS> already noticed in the docs you asked for a restatement of. RS> As usual, you say nothing about what you have done about stuff like LBA. PE> I have LBA enabled. Sounds like the usual OS/2 brain fart. It should be fine in that situation and is presumably just preventing you from doing what is OK. Maybe they have some warped logic in mind like only allowing you to create a config which will still work if you turn LBA off and the mapping doesnt change. The simplest solution is to just have a partition which is below the 1024 cylinder limit, and in the process get the safety of having OS/2 installed on its own partition to minimise the risk to your data when you install/upgrade etc OS/2 itself. The other possibility is that its having the brain fart because its the 3rd IDE, and it treats that differently to the SCSI being the 3rd drive. Only one way to find out, try that 1024 cylinder business and see. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
