As Penny Powers was saying to Wendy Appgar:
PP> I got your card in the mail Saturday and I wanted to thank you so
PP> much for the lovely change of address cards. My husband really
PP> liked them too. I was wondering if I could get about 15 more of
PP> them as I have many people I need to notify about my new address.
PP> Which by the way I don't have yet. I am willing to send you some
PP> green stuff and to cover the cards and the postage. So let me
PP> know how much you want.
I'm glad you liked the postcards. I love rubber stamping
and the address change stamp hasn't been used much at all.
It's funny because I had another friend who asked me to
do change of address postcards for her brother and sister-
in-law who are moving. Some of them ended up being regular
cards because of me running out of postcards. I got
paid for some of them and we bartered the rest. It is so
nice to be able to barter some of the stuff I make for
services (she does my hair for me).
I'll pick up some more postcards the end of the week,
around the 15th and would be happy to make some for
you. If you could send $5, along with your address (since
I can't remember where I put that stuff!) that will
cover the cost of materials and postage. I would
do them for you for free if I had the supplies on hand.
:-) I am glad you liked them. It is actually the
first time I used that corner stamp and it worked
perfectly. (And this time I'll put your address where
I can find it!)
I have a friend who sends me her rubber stamps when she
gets tired of them or ones from a set that she doesn't
want. I know she is not an avid stamper because she
doesn't clean her stamps (I always have to remember to
clean them really well when she sends them), but it is
sure nice to get new stamps. She sent me the corner
stamp. She also recently sent me some small animal
stamps. I periodically pick up giraffe stamps. I don't
collect giraffe's but I do like the stickers and the
rubber stamps.
Thank you for your insight with the stuff going on
personally. I'm trying hard to not post any of that
here. I will say that my crafts and projects help me
a lot to cope with stuff.
PP> So have you finished any button projects lately?
My mom gave me a shirt with hearts on it (or did I tell
you that already?) and I did sew my heart buttons on it.
I had some huge heart buttons that weighed too much for
the fabric, but I had some button pins so I pinned
one of them to the hat that I wear (because of being sun
sensitive) and that was fun.
Or any other
PP> crafty stuff. What kind of cards do you make? Have you done any
PP> plain note cards? Do you sell yours in the community?
I make all different kinds of cards. Right now I have a lot
to color because I haven't felt much like coloring and
only wanted to stamp! I have colored the ones that I have
sold though. And I am working on the pages that I send
to the few people who have a "catalog" of the rubber
stamps that I have who order cards from me periodically.
I sent a note to my cousin who buys cards from me
occasionally asking if she would want a copy and telling her
that I'd be more than happy to mail them to her if she
pays for the copies.
I make plain note cards a lot. I have over 500 stamps
(which amazes me!) I wouldn't have the room for them but
a lot of them are smaller. This past month I picked
up some of the drawers on wheels (2 large and 2 small
drawers), 2 of those and some extra draw sets for on
top of them to put my rubber stamps and supplies in.
That enabled me to get the newsletter stuff and some other
craft stuff up off the floor and onto the metal
shelves that used to hold my stamp supplies. They are so
much easier to get at now!
I have sold many of my cards to friends and I made quite
a few for the "Children's Store" that is run by a few
non-profit groups, including a child prevention group,
over the Christmas holidays. I'm hoping that come
September they will want some more again. I make cards
for my parents as well and they buy some of my
craft supplies. My sale of cards helps me pay for the
card stock and envelopes since I pay for those.
Boy am I
PP> full of questions today. Well I hope that you have a better week
PP> then the last few days. Take care and remember that you do have
PP> friends who think of you often and do care.
Thank you. It's still been really rough and is getting
rougher since we have to fight the insurance company
now. Hopefully that will not be a problem.
Wendy
