JD> All of us must do what WE can do to help turn the seemingly
JD> inexorable tide of new gun laws. Here's a couple of things
JD> that I've done recently:
JD> Our local paper, the Monroe Evening News, published 2
JD> articles by Sarah Brady. They were the usual anti-gun tripe,
JD> full of half-truths and other garbage. It was very surprising
JD> to me that no one replied to them in the Letters to the
JD> Editor section, so I did. The Monroe News (Monroe County, MI)
JD> is a fairly middle of the road paper and published both.
(snip)
JD> Everyone here has a PC and a word processor, so it's not hard
JD> to write such letters. If you don't have access to the World
JD> Wide Web, you can ask for help with research here. I've also
JD> used Wayne LaPierre's book, "Guns, Crime, and Freedom" for
JD> referance. Most newspapers have published fax numbers, making
JD> it really simple to send that letter, even saving the $.32
JD> postage!
JD> You should also write to your congressfolks. Again, all
JD> offices have fax numbers that you can use. I've written
JD> Michigan's Senator Abraham on several occassions and have
JD> received replies from his office.
Good advice Jim. Sent my faxes out yesterday. Visit Gun Owners of America's
web site and they make it real easy to send email to congress. I believe the
address is
www.goa.org.
