I have heard rumor for the last couple of weeks that Atari was dropping the
Jaguar system.
Don Thomas and Ted Hoff repute those rumors, saying that Atari is working on
20 games for the jag and 20 for the PC in 1996.
I went into Electronics boutique today in Reno and they were closing out the
Jaguar stuff. They hadn't dropped the prices yet but the guy in there told
me they were getting set to get rid of everything, since the Jag was
discontinued. I said it wasn't discontiued, and the store manager promptly
went to his office in the back and brought back a paper signed (chain
letter) by Sam Tramiel stating the there would be no more Atari Jaguars in
production and once the available supply was gone it would be dis-continued.
My jaw hit the floor. Who's lying to who here?
I bought Syndicate today for 24.00, and the guy in the store told me to come
back in 2 weeks and I could buy all the games they had that I wanted for
$20.00 a copy. They said the Jaguar close out would have Jaguars for $59.00
and they were doing it so they wouldn't be stuck with any of the "NON
SUPPORTED" game platform.
Can anyone shed any light on this sudden confusion?
