Also, that's *cable* feet. Way back when I lived all of 4 blocks from
the CO. But I couldn't get ISDN because the cable trunks happened to
follow major streets and then branch off. With the result that my
phone line went around 3 1/2 sides of a square. 

A local Fido sysop worked for the phone company back then and did some
checking to see *why* I didn't qualify.
