LR> JDBP> For an authoritative reference on Berkeley sockets, read
LR> JDBP> _The_Design_and_Implementation_of_the_4.3BSD_UNIX_operating_system_
LR> JDBP> Karels, McKusick, Leffler, and Quarterman. ISBN 0-201-06196-1.
LR>
LR> JDBP> As I said, IBM provides a programmers' toolkit for sockets in its
LR> JDBP> TCP/IP product.
LR>
LR> Ah, the precise information that completely satifies - on a timely

LR>
LR> Be well my friend. I think I would feel lost without you around.

Another good book is "UNIX Network Programming" By Stevens. Actually
this book covers a number of Unix specific topics relating to
interprocess communications, servers etc., but it also provides a
pretty thorough treatment of TCP/IP sockets and the AT&T alternative,
TLI.
