Peter, at 23:12 on May 27 1995, you wrote to Bill Grimsley...

Pete, I gave you specific figures from MY most recent phone bill (which was
fairly typical) and I reiterate, Last Netcon would actually COST me money,
certainly NOT save any. QED.

PN> Can you currently save anything with your current billing arrangements on
PN> local calls??

When Optus introduces local calls up here, I can virtually guarantee it.
Brisbane first, but other states will soon follow.

PN> a rebate you don't see till 12 months later isn't much use to

Rubbish, flexiplan discounts are deducted from each quarterly bill.

PN> anyone (some of the "others" offering "higher"
discounts have
PN> "conveniently" gone out of business before anyone got their
PN> rebates BTW.).

Funny, I have exactly the same uncomfortable feeling about interim
providers pissing off with my phone money, leaving Telecom/Optus to chase
ME for it.

PN> Taking the discount off the bill BEFORE you pay is much better than a
PN> rebate promised to you that might NEVER be forthcoming.

Where do you get this silly notion that the rebates are issued annually?
That's a complete load of crap.

BG> You mean 5% discount on all calls at the FULL rate.

PN> Standard published rates, incl weekend rates, off-peak.

Exactly as I stated, FULL rates, NOT flexi-plan discounted.

PN> and earn some income for myself which works out already well in
PN> advance of the few dollars I lost at 2%. 8^).

BG> Which is my whole point, Pete. YOU only actually make money
BG> from the PYRAMID side of the scheme, not the discount. Thanks
BG> for the verification. |-)

PN> One guy local to me now saves some $120 a year with 5% flat discount on all
PN> calls compared to his previous Telecom arrangements, which DID include some
PN> flexi-plan discounts in fact!

Great, that's ONE miserable purported example, and directly contradicts
mine. Not everybody lives in capital cities Pete, not even you.

PN> OOTR. Call me on 043-902215 (voice) for futher details, on how
PN> you too can save on ALL your calls.

No thanks, I already have your "documents", which is why I know
exactly what a scam Last Netcon really is. Does the name P T Barnum ring
any bells? |-)

Regards, Bill
