Hello Matthias,

On Saturday April 03 2021 23:54, you wrote to Richard Menedetter:

Not pre-historic, but not quit up to date either I'd say. ZIP has indeed been the de facto standard for conpression for at least two decades, but now that the vast majority of us uses the Internet as the transport medium and we do not have to pay for every byte any more and sometimes exchange mail far more often than 10 times a day, sending raw packets insteads of archives has become the norm for many.

My default is sending raw packets that may or may not be compressed on the fly by binkd. I still support ZIP, but it is only used by a few links.

Cheers, Michiel
