I don't know about US laws but your opinion wouldn't work hereabouts!
Justice [the lady with the scales] is blinfolded, the Law is an Ass. Law is
not about being fair, it is about being correct.
In Australia if you buy a car that has money owing on it [shonky seller] then
you have to wear that debt. Countless people have paid good money for a car,
then found they don't own the car at all but they do have to pay the money
owed by the last "owner".
And in Indonesia, heavy machinery eg presses, lathes are imported duty- free
for installation setting up factories for example. The factory owner is not
allowed to sell that machinery later. If his business goes bust, or if he
upgrades to larger machinery then the Govt will not allow him to sell off the
surplus plant. It just sits there........
