Hi Andy,

 BP> Because Maxs is broken.

AM> Bzzzt. Wrong. Well... it's not brokedn with regards to THIS problem.

From what I have been told, it is broken, because that's the only way it
sends mail out.

BP> Any and all decent mailers would send a file named like the above, and

AM> Any and all decent mailers that have 2D disabled would have *exactly*

 AM> the

AM> same problem. The cure is simply to tell it to use 2D pkts instead of 4D

AM> pkts for that particular system.

Fido standards indicate that you can only send 2d files, ala ibm 8.3 filenames.

BP> Real easy, just get something that actually works properly.

AM> Even easier... configure it properly! -OR- tell the IBM SysOp in

AM> question to update his SW to something more modern which CAN handle 4D

 AM> pkts.

Trying that will only further denigrate the Amiga in the eyes of the IBM owner.

How about sticking to known and accepted standards.

 AM> Shall I shut up now? __ __n~~ o_

Yes please. ;-)
