Every terminal I've been in has that little box, but I've yet to see anyone 
actually use it.  My old Forecast (the "Silvertone" of Sampsonite) won't fit 
in it and I've carried it on every time I've flown with the exception of 
Puerta Vallarta, where we both had two carry-ons plus the big one.
