 CL> ... I read about it in a book I got
CL> about a year ago, and am also going to apply a few other tricks from
CL> in there to cure him of some more stuff. ;)
What's the name/author of the book?

 CL> That must be cute!
Ya.. it's cute when you know it's coming. Not good when he surprises some
visitors who venture to introduce themselves to him.
Monster is a rottweiller-doberman mix (or so I've been told). But he's not
as big and wide as a rotty, and not as skinny as a dobe. Very short fur.
Facial markings of a rotty. But head-shape is more like a lab's, I would
say. He's got VERY blonde fur around his bum though; that helps me spot him
in the distance when it gets dark outside. Almost everyone has
commented how healthy and muscular he looks.
CL> ...I have to be careful Ben doesn't try to nip my face
CL> when I bend down to him. I've gotten him cured of most of his
CL> nipping, but he sometimes does try to grab a nose...
Monster does another cute thing. When I leave him for the night, he'll
sometimes run in front of me to the extent of his chain and sit. Obviously I
can't get passed him unless I side-step. Then when I brush my hand across
his head and muzzle, he'll open his mouth and GENTLY try to grab my hand. He
obviously doesn't want me to leave him just yet. So.. I talk to him for a
couple more minutes. But then when I leave, he'll sit there staring at me,
looking forlorn. I don't remember having any other dog that did that.
