 I went to braided line as I needed a heavy one for laker fishing, it
 sinks deep. The mono monel line will kink easy and if unkinked, will
 loose some strenght. The braided line is much more resilient to a kink.
 But you can not find these braided anymore, the monel ones.

 So, where do you stand now in this repair ?
