Hello Roy.

15 Jun 06 15:16, you wrote to me:

RW> Plus, the lawsuits that seem to crop up in urope against MS has
RW> probably prompted them to do this to regain money the courts have
RW> taken away from their profits.

There would have been no law suits if they had operated within our laws and
respect our customs of fair trade in the first place.

RW> There's more than one way to skin a scoundral.

Calling your customers scoudrels is not a good marketing strategy...

MvdV>>>> Hmmm, I like that, if you are right, I *can* sue Shannon
MvdV>>>> Talley for stepping on my rights after all....

RW>>> Like you've been told, you have no case, so you will be laughed
 RW>>> out of court.

I am way beyond the stage where I take as gospel "what I have been
told". I check for myself. And that leads to a different result.

MvdV>> Those who told that had no idea what they were talking about.

RW> I've told you that and I know what I'm talking about.

It is obvious that you and whoever you got your information from have no
idea what th are talking about when it comes to Dutch law.

RW>>> Oh, the court makes the decision, even though it's tried by
 RW>>> jury?

MvdV>> They have juries in Sweden? Don't think so.

RW> Then they don't have a true democracy, as claimed. Judged by your
RW> peers and not your government is real democracy.

Thay is just *your* kind of democracy. And fyi, the judges here are not
"government"

RW> Your country belongs to the EU, you have Dutch law and you have EU
RW> law, which prevails in copyrights?

Mo.

RW> Here, the federal laws cover copyrights, not state laws. I would
RW> think that if you're country wishes to belong to a union of states,

Think what you want.

RW> it should concede it's copyright law in favor of the union's law. The
 RW> EU has a constitution

Wrong again. No constitition.

RW> and I'll bet it has copyright laws

You would lose.

RW> Those laws should supercede Dutch law.

We wil be the judge of that, thank you.

We may go that way some day. or maybe not.

As it is, Dutch citizens and people residing on Dutch soil are subject to
Dutch law and no other law.

Michiel
