I agree, usually the standards now a days are high enough, however in principal that mains cable that you cut the us plug off and added the Australian plug could be rated at 120V and you've connected it to 240V, ie outside of the specification for the installation - or so an insurance inspector could see it. Crazy but true ! The main problems I suspect would be with the drivers for the hardware - do we have more details about the laptop than what is in the article ? Cheers/2 Ed. Yahoo!
