I wonder whether someone can get Mike Kaply [still?] to have it fixed?
Especially as the Junk control now works properly, and it also has the 
"paste without formatting" option, to get around the problem of stuff 
that is formatted as html-tables, previously a real PITA.
Any ideas on the "smileys'? Nothing else on the system has changed.

I guess once you have a DVD-writer you are spoilt forever.

I have received several data DVD-Rs [4.7GB size with 3.5GB written] and 
cannot practicably read them on the DVD-ROM reader in my 1999 W98-VAIO, 
although I can sometimes see the root directory tree folders and 
occasionally the first [even second too sometimes] level directory 
contents too, but then it hangs, and on a friend's Tower system with 
LG-brand combo DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive under W2KProSP4, it always sees 
nothing -- "please insert a disc" etc.--
