Hi David--
I really don't care if the manuals don't handle multi-threading. I
doubt that I will be using multi-threading for REXX external
functions. However, it bothers me that you think I will have to buy
a new Toolkit. I was hoping to translate the few API calls that I might
use to the PL/I format from either the C or ASM version that I already
have. All my REXX (and C) programming is for text-mode utilities, so I
won't need the PM interface. But, we shall see.

I have asked my local public library to find and borrow it. If I'm
lucky, if I like it, it will still be in print, and I will order it.
According to my bookseller (before receiving your reply) there are about
four PL/I texts still in print. I didn't want to order one until I had
something to go on.

Thanks. I hope I won't have to bother you further.
