Yes Barry, we did convert to dollars, long ago, however, I was quoting from a 
British Magazine called Cycling Today, as I am planning a tour in Europe.  
Since I wasnt exactly sure what the exchange is, I figured it safest to post 
the amount the published.   It's really a good magazine, covering from 
touring to moutain biking, and all sorts of info related to bikes in anyway!
