It's also quite nicely priced. ISDN is usually only about 10-20 Euro more
per month than an analog line.

Yes. GSM comes in two variants, one operating around 900MHz, the other at
about 1800MHz. However, only really old cell phones don't work with both.
Another nice thing is of course that the rest of Europe also has GSM
networks, so one can still use their cell phone even when abroad. Most of
the carriers have roaming agreements.
