To be shamefully honest, I don't even recall now what I said , but

So far, it actually has worked out fairly well. 7 days after I was
'terminated' from my job, my only brother had a heart attack, was
hospitalized for 13 days, and ended up having angioplasty (balloon
surgery). My family is very small, and I'm the only 'responsible' one
other than my elderly father. So having all my time free to make
hospital runs and do errands was a good thing. If I'd still been
working, I wouldn't have been able to be there for him. Sometimes bad
things are a blessing in disguise.
But now he's out of the hospital, and I need to find a real job. 
I've got some birdcages and nestboxes to replace, and I can't do that
until I have a regular paycheck again.
Ah well, the birds are enjoying having me around more than usual--
they're getting a bit TOO used to being out on the playgyms during the
daytime!
