It works!  No sparks or smoke on the first execution at a DOS prompt.  And
I got a nice 'how to use' help line I had forgotten about, since I didn't
provide any command-line arguments.  :)

Oh, and I like your simplification of the ^Via line scanning.  It speaks
for your experience with the language.

So, with that I then caused a remote PING... which also succeeded!  Yay!
