Dear Shosh,
We seem to have had a breakdown in comunication. The 'ribbon' i am
using is just a narrow grossgrain ribbon with loops along one side. One
does not crochet 'with' the ribbon. The idea is to use the tiny loops as a
starting place for crocheted lace. When finished, the lace is attached
to the garment or pillow case by sewing the ribbon on the edge.
As to 'who makes it'? I wish i knew. I did find one small bolt of it
in a bunch of trims at a farmers market. Believe me i bought the whole
thing. There was no indication of the maker on the bolt. It was yellowed
with age but a short rinsing in dilute bleach took care of that.
Am i still carving??? WEll if by carving you mean whittling, no, nor
did i ever. My soul sister Anne does that beautifully, but i never have.
What i do is rough out the pieces [forks and spoons, needlework eq.,
hair/bun minders] on machinery, then the rest is all handsand and file.
Yes i am still doing it, although not this or last month, as there is a
unreasonable pile of outdoor work to do. The only crafts i am doing are
the 'take with me' fingerbusies and the photostat masters for some of my
greeting cards. If i don't get them ready, i lose my privilages for the
month.
Shalom, ll
