This sounds very much like errors on the DTE link between the modem and the 
PC.  Zmodem wouldn't _see_ any errors that occurred between the modems, nor 
would Bink.
What's the operating environment (DOS, Win 3.x, Win95) and what's the UART 
trigger set at?
