** Reply to note from Charles May Mon, 12 Jan 2004 18:25:06 -0500 Charles, > I have 8 total USB slots. Unless I find a way to selectively disengage them > it would seem that an IRQ conflict is unavoidable. Indeed it is unavoidable, and what you are seeing are not IRQ conflicts. What you have are several devices *sharing* and IRQ (and more than one of those, in fact). This is the way the PCI bus is designed to work, and unless you disable everything that you can possibly disable, and install no plugin cards, you can not avoid what you see as conflicts. Even then I wouldn't bet my last dime you could do it. As I've mentioned far too often in the past, this is not the ISA bus we are talking about here. Two or more devices using the same IRQ on the PCI bus is not a conflict like it was on the ISA bus. You can waste as much time as you'd like trying, but you can't change either the hard wiring on the motherboard, or the PCI specification. Regards, Steve ------------------------ Yahoo!
