Hi Andy,
I had my "preferred" directory set to
"/pub/os2/util/disk/" in FTP-PM --
connects and populates almost immediately. That is using "." as the
remote filemask and "*" as the local. I also have selected "two-part
filename" and codepage as "NONE". Usual anonymous login with
e-mail address.

I used all the same [as available] settings with FTP Host, but pwd still
indicates "/", doesn't matter whether I use split-view/icon/details or
tree, just sits there in split-view with "collecting objects",
busy-pointer with most of the others.

I noted that using a terminating "/" for the requested directory path
makes no difference in FTP-PM, either is accepted.

Have only just realised, after testing a few changes, that when I open
the FTP Host - there is absolutely no TCP/IP communication occurring
[both RD & SD LEDs in Object Netscan are red throughout] until I use the
menu items to query pwd/remote OS!

Any ideas?
[The Open Host as "command-line" option works as expected.]
