Actually the Internet connection isnt too hideously expensive but the only
¨providers who speak english are the broadband I have, and the dialup I
used to ¨have.  The dialup was WIN specific and didnt get it worked out to
authenticate ¨from a DOS PPPP connection (PPPP right?  I forget but can
look it up).

It's similar in concept to having as your only option, AOL.  Kinda hard to
get ¨a DOS box going on it.  Now out in town, there are many other choices
but I ¨didnt bother to battle the launguage gap with everything in Japanese
because ¨the POTS rate is very decent.  I'm running about 8$ a month in LD
calls with ¨current habits .  I cant get an ISP for 8$ here.

Sasebo is a small town, not Tokyo.  Most maps you'd see of Japan dont even
list ¨it unless it's a fairly detailed map.  I'm 1.5-2 hours away by bullet
train to ¨the big citys.
