We have started to get the local echoes back, but as of yet they haven't
set up Fido.

You think that having to go through an extra login and whatever else
would quickly use up any potential savings? I do. Calls to Dallas are
through ATT anyway, and fall under my discount plan. Net effect: it is
better when going long distance - wherever - to download 1 large packet
than two small packets. And Ric's system allows pre-scans. Each morning
it automatically scans my message requests and compresses my packet
before I'm even online. IOW, adding echoes to my request only adds a few
seconds to my online time.
