Smartdrv didn't really help.  But I've heard that other people have similar 
problems, including one person who has a Pentium 166!  I think I found a way 
to avoid it most of the time.  When it shows you completed a level, and it 
shows your time stats, press space bar once, then every other stat (enemy 
killed, etc) will show up.  From there, press space bar one more time.  Also, 
there's bugs in the game still!  Sometimes, when I save a game, the picture 
of the save game will screw up and the game crashes.  I had to reinstall the 
game once because it really messed up the duke3d.exe file!
