Yup. Thank you for the kind words. I've been called arrogant, stubborn,
egotistical, mean, nasty, ugly, and all sorts of unprintable stuff. Some
of it is even true.... OTOH, when I produce results that exceed the
technical specs, on budget (always) and on time (almost always), I never
gloat, but rather congratulate the customer on his perceptive and wise
decision.... (Well, actually, I do gloat, but I keep it an inch behind my
face.)

Given the competence, your assertion, Peter, is absolutely correct. And the
more one exceeds mere "competence," the greater one's freedom to
refuse DOS/Win and even mundane OS/2 chores. This, of course, requires
dedication, perseverance, and plain ol' WORK.

PF> One other piece of advice -- write lots of freeware.... These
PF> free programs are free advertising (Shareware doesn't work).

This advice to aspiring authors/developers is sound, IMO, although I
personally give *nothing* away. And neither would I recommend the
shareware route. Although I have registered all shareware that I use (e.g.
TE/2, MR/2, SIO, PMJPEG), the vast majority of users never do so. I think
it is indicative of the general moral decline of our society - but I stray
egregiously off topic....
