Some people think that one very basic 'goal' of life (or a basic
characteristics of the Universal life-force) is to deplete "exergy" (i.e.
biologically useful energy).
The same old 2nd law of Themodynamics, raising its head yet again. :-)
(The "exergy" notion was noticed by me amongst a lot of words about very
little in a recent New Scientist article.)
