It seems silly to me to come up with an elaborate explanation of skin color
for
Klingons. The ridges/no ridges contrast needs a good explanation (besides
we
don't discuss it with outsiders") but skin color? Surely there were areas of
the home world that were tropical and heavily forested vs. tropical and
grassland. That's why African Americans are different shades...the darker
ones
have ancestors that came from the grasslands (needed more protection from the
sun) and the lighter ones came from forested areas where there were more
rees
to protect them from the UV radiation...
The ridges are cool to speculate about...maybe they shouldn't explain
everything :)
