Not the fade I meant. On the tool bar where it says File/Edit/View the
background color is designed to give it a sort of rounded appearance, it's
lighter at the top, darker in the middle and light again at the bottom.
Since it has text on it this makes the text harder to read than if the
background were just a single color.

There are lots of things in vista like that, for example when I select
homeless.nthelp the newsgroup name gets highlighted with this fade effect.
the sliders on the bottom and right side of the windows have this faded
shading thing too.

It looks kinda nice actually but after a few hours my eyes start to bother
me. I'll have to try some other settings to see if they make a difference.
I dunno, maybe it's just that I haven't seen sunlight in 3 weeks (lake
effect clouds hide the sun for most of the winter here)
