Grant, at 09:18 on May 21 1995, you wrote to Bill Grimsley...

So what is this then...?

Please note: The modems listed above do not currently have Austel
permits, although they are approved by the United States FCC.

Sure looks like a country to me, Grant.

GB> I am not _comparing_ Austel to the FCC.. not by a long shot.. I am merely

Then what's the point of stating that although your modems are not Austel
approved, they have been approved by the US FCC? Wouldn't be an attempt to
mislead prospective clients, would it? That's exactly how I read it.

GB> The FCC are more powerful than Austel. Period.

BG> Are you suggesting that the US FCC performs much the same function as
BG> Austel?

GB> I'm not comparing the two. If you think I am, you're sadly mistaken.

I'd suggest that this is exactly what you're attempting to do, as it
happens. Otherwise, why mention the FCC at all. The implication is there
Grant, even if you claim otherwise.

BG> As a purported dealer, your lack of regulatory body and product
BG> knowledge is astounding.

GB> So is yours, but nobody complains :-)

That's complete and utter rubbish. You have totally ignored my other
message which pointed out in no uncertain terms that the FCC is only
interested in controlling RFI emissions or susceptibility to same (and only
in the US as well), an area in which Austel has absolutely no jurisdiction
whatsoever.
