When the white box appears, have you tried ALT-F1  or
ALT-F3 to bring up the boot choice menu? If you got
the white box, you are getting the bootstrap file
going, if nothing else. If you are  getting the  blue
OS/2 logo screen up, then ALT-F2 or ALT-F3 at the
white box will list the drivers as they load on the
bottom so you can see where it stops.
