 SO? It does NOT interfere with *ANY* operation with non-USR modems...
 Their ASL and other technology (some are now finally in the V.34/V.34+
 protocal)enables them to run faster, so they did... but they didn't harm
 the protocal or change it drasticly so that no other modem can communicate
 with it... In fact, Courier has been THE modem that gives the most speed,
 no matter what the other modem is... Even the early flakey Sportster
 become rock stable when hooked onto a Courier...

 I didn't think anyone said USR created V.32ter, but rather they added
 an extension so it can be faster... And the extension didn't harm
 any compatibilities... SO WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM? Should car be make so it
 will go 150+MPH at the track instead of limited to the max speed limit
 of the area? So it can be "compatible" with local laws?
 I don't think so...
