Erica,

It's been so long since I started doing them, I've forgotten where I
got the idea. I believe someone else on here had the original idea.
Tips...you can get the stamps off the envelopes by throwing a handful
into a bowl with very warm water for a few minutes. Then you can pull
them apart, and it's pretty easy. I guess that's the hardest part.
Someone also had the idea to make earrings with them. I think they
took a stamp and decoupaged it several times, and rolled it around
a pencil to make it curl some, perhaps after it dried? I've forgotten
that part now. I plan to make some for Christmas presents this year,
  only with clip-on earrings.
Hope this helps you some. Some of the others can tell you more to do
with cancelled stamps. Good luck, let me know how it goes! :)
  take care,
  Wanda
... Put on this blindfold. I want to try something.
