I missed the original message so I'm not sure of the original problem, but I
have seen the above "No such file or directory" on slackware when trying to
run a 32bit program on a 64bit install without 32bit support. 

On debian and ubuntu 64bit you need to add 32 bit support with something like
"dpkg --add-architecure i386" ...
