We are getting somewhat silly here :) My front-end system can 'process' mail during a session, I can even reply to a pkt and send the reply pkt during the same session. The front-end program performs any number of functions, included amongst these are:ftn mailer, uucp mailer, login, fax, tosser, filerequest_handler, filerequest_tracker, netmail_tracker, echogate, qwk_packer, ftp_simulator etc. etc etc. This does not make the 'mailer' a 'tosser'. ...
