  GamePro and EGM?  They also target young teens, and from what I've read 
(from EGM, at least), their articles are largely fluff that don't actually 
tell you WHY something should succeed or fail.  Their leaning towards cheat 
codes and endless special moves lists also doesn't help their case.
  As for NG reviews, I think they're fairly on-the-ball.  They've given the 
certifiably bad games the reviews they deserve; likewise, the breakthroughs 
get good reviews.
  But as the magazine's name suggests, you're probably not reading it for the 
reviews; you want to know what's up and coming.
