    That's why nobody uses it. :) It's not that difficult to implement a
rudimentary ANSI state machine - I've written one in about 300 lines, and I
can recall hearing of others who'd done similar things. VIO itself is okay
(or rather, AVIO) though it's probably best to avoid in new code: it exists
primarily for migration purposes. You probably won't be seeing blinking any
time soon, though it wouldn't be that difficult to implement either:  it
essentially requires redrawing as much as the whole screen with each blink,
which is pretty costly.
