No, it's uropeon based. We don't have exclusive rights to prosecute
software pirates.

Well, what do you know! Welkom op de website van de Business Software
Alliance Nederland. Looks like it's closer to home than you thought.

RW>> They've expanded it to include employees who notice such things.
MvdV> That is what I said: snitch *on* companies. Fired employees would
MvdV> be good candiates for snitching.

Disgruntled employees would have no problem doing that...even honest
employees might take a moment to report it on company time.

RW>> Just think about all of those disgruntled employees. Wow.

MvdV> When I was unjustly fired in 1996, I must admit having played with
MvdV> the idea of snitching on my ex-employer.

I did that too, c1976...I even thought of ways to blow the politically
inclined bastard to bits.

MvdV> I resisted the urge and went the better way: let the court decide
 MvdV> on a fair compensation.

I chose a different approach. I got just compensation from a retirement
fund, then set out to take revenge on the bastard who caused it. He wasn't
named 'Red' for nothing. When his temper flared, he'd turn bright red.
That's where I got him, as when that happens to people, their blood
pressure goes off the charts. He died of a heart attack some time later.
Before he fired me, we were like father and son...but as soon as he got to
a position over my head, he became a tyrant and I didn't allow him to ride
me.

MvdV>>> They made a lot of noise some ten years ago. TV spots, etc,
MvdV>>> etc. Now they are very silent. Seems they have faded into
 MvdV>>> oblivion...

 RW>> Not according to Microsoft's website...plus, they're still
 RW>> advertising.

MvdV> Maybe snitching is still popular in the US. Here BSA has been
 MvdV> silent for years.

See above.
